The 9th Edition (2026) Florida Building Code is currently in its second “Glitch/Errata” Code Change Cycle, and this is an important opportunity for MACCA members to help shape the final version of the code before it is finalized.
This phase allows industry professionals to submit corrections, clarify confusing language, and identify unintended issues within the proposed code updates across multiple disciplines, including Mechanical, Energy Conservation, Fuel Gas, Plumbing, and Building standards.
Rather than submitting individual comments directly to the state, MACCA is collecting all member feedback and compiling a unified submission. This approach helps ensure industry voices are organized, consistent, and may carry greater weight in the review process. It also allows member suggestions to remain anonymous when submitted collectively.

Why This Matters
These updates directly impact how HVAC and mechanical systems are designed, installed, and inspected across Florida. Input from field professionals helps ensure the code reflects real-world conditions, improves clarity, and avoids unintended conflicts in application.
MACCA encourages all members to take part in this process and help strengthen the industry’s collective voice.
